English Support

Learning Support and Inclusion

The University is concerned that students are offered appropriate support and guidance to enable them to benefit fully from the library service.

In order to achieve this all students will be offered the opportunity to discuss any specific requirements with University staff. With your permission, requests for assistance may be passed onto the library and dealt with on an individual basis in consultation with the Learning Support Officer.

The kinds of provision which may be discussed include:

  • Individualised inductions so that needs may be discussed.
  • VLE materials and texts in alternative formats.
  • Support to get texts out into Braille/audiotape.
  • Priority access.
  • Purchase of assistive aids.

In addition to individual requirements which may be agreed, some students with a learning support agreement may be awarded additional print credit or use of a locker. It is considered the Library's revised loan policy is generous to all students and extended loans are unlikely to be needed.

The facilities available in all of our libraries to support your learning include:

  • Screen Reader (JAWS).
  • CCTV Scanner/Magnifier.
  • Large Monitors.
  • Coloured Overlays.
  • Ergonomic Input Devices (mouse and keyboard)
  • Headphones.
  • Mind View Matchware Mind Mapping Software.

Students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities should contact Learning Support in the first instance at LearningSupport@bpp.com or visit the Learning Support and Inclusion pages on the Hub.
