We’re pleased to share that the London East (Portsoken) Library Hub has now moved to a new location—a larger, dedicated quiet study space on the Third Floor, that will enable more opportunities for 1-1 study skills support.

We’ve included some useful FAQs below, but if you have any further queries regarding the Library Hub move, our Library contact details can be found here.

FAQs

Q. When is the Library Hub open?

The Library Hub is open from 10.00-18.00 on Thursdays. If the Library Hub is unable to be staffed for any reason, this will be communicated to students via the BPP Virtual Campus and our social media (Instagram and X).

Q. Can I still use the Third Floor Quiet Study Area if the Library Hub is closed?

Yes! This space is still available for quiet study and quiet computer use during Library Hub closure periods.

Q. How can the Library Hub support me in my studies?

During Library Hub opening times, a member of our professional, knowledgeable, and welcoming Library Team will be on site to provide support and guidance with finding materials on the Online Library Catalogue, utilising ebooks and online resources, and to offer study skills support, digital literacy guidance, and printing support.

Q. I’m based at Portsoken—how can I receive 1-1 (in person) study support from the Library Hub?

Visit the Library Hub on the Third Floor on Thursdays and request in-person support from one of our Library professionals. We're happy to help! Queries can also be forwarded to the Library Hub via email or the Online Library LiveChat service.

Q. Will the new space include computers and a printing service?

The new Library Hub space, on the Third Floor includes a computer suite and multifunctional printing and photocopying device available for student use. Mobile and laptop printing also available. IT-related queries can be raised via the ‘Submit a Query’ form on the BPP Hub.

Q. The Library Hub is closed/unstaffed and I'm unsure of how to print and/or add printing credit.

You can find a detailed video tutorial on the printing process here. More guidance on the printing service and printing credit instructions can be found here.

Q. Will the new space include Library books?

No hardcopy (physical, printed) books are included in the Library Hub provision, however, students can access ebooks via the Online Library, and are welcome to borrow books from other sites, such as London Central (Holborn), London South (Waterloo) and London West (Shepherd’s Bush), providing they wear their student ID on site and return the items to the borrowing Library. Portsoken-based students may be interested to know we have a wide range of books related to business, business management, and management skills, at London West (Shepherd’s Bush).

Q. Help! I have a Library Hub query that’s not listed here.

Not a problem! The Library Team are here to help—please contact us via email or the Library LiveChat, so that we can investigate further.

We look forward to welcoming you to the new Library Hub in the future!
